Nicola confirms the start of production of a commercial electric truck

Late Wednesday it confirmed it had begun production of its electric commercial truck, the Tre, last week at its plant in Coolidge, Ariz. The EV maker aimed for this when reporting Earnings in the fourth quarter last month. “We are laser-focused in supplying vehicles and generating revenue as a global leader in transportation solutions and energy infrastructure without emissions,” a spokesman said. Nicola set an investor day on the Thursday after the bell. Nicola said it expects supply of “salable” production trucks to begin in the second quarter. EV maker shares rose more than 4% in the prolonged session on Wednesday after the end of the regular trading day with a decline of 0.7%.
