The mysterious free Goblintown NFT collection captures millions
The latest NFT collection to head this week is a project called Goblintown, an NFT compilation of 9,999 goblins. One of the reasons the project was noticed was that NFT was cut for free and then gained significant value in the real world over time.
With no surpluses, big promotions or advertisements, by May 23, 2022, the floor value of Goblintown was 0.5 ethereum (ETH) and increased by 458% to 2.79 ETH by Sunday evening, May 28. The project officially started on May 22 and the only way for people to hear about it was by word of mouth. As the news spread around the crypto campfire, Goblintown NFT became expensive.

Goblintown’s Twitter account currently has 37,400 followers today, and current figures show that 4,725 owners own at least one Goblintown NFT. When a visitor arrives on a website called goblintown.wtf, there is a section at the top of the page that says, “Damn, log in,” and when you log in, it says “sold out ma * eri.”
At the time of writing, NFT’s weekly sales figures show that Goblintown has registered $ 22.85 million in sales since May 22, and Goblintown is currently the best-selling NFT project this week. Although the project is the hottest today, no one is sure where the compilation came from and who exactly is behind the new digital collectibles.

There were a bunch of baseless rumors that American DJ Steve Aoki or Yuga Labs was behind the NFT collection. As the project has amassed significant value in one week, Goblintown’s vendors have made a lot of money.
One Goblintown trader earned 5.039% in the last seven days, and another trader made a 264% profit in five days. The most expensive NFT sold by the collection in the last seven days is the Goblintown 8,995, which sold for 69.42 ethers or $ 136,000. Goblintown 5,948 sold for 26 ethers or $ 51,000, and Goblintown 7,944 traded hands for 27 ethers or $ 46,000 .
Sales of the Goblintown collection this week have been beneficial to the sales of the NFT industry as a whole, as the NFT economy is dealing with its first cryptocurrency market.
